Slow Cooker “Melt-in-Your-Mouth” Pork Chops (3-Ingredient Version)
This is a simple, minimal-ingredient slow cooker method designed to make pork chops tender, juicy, and soft enough to cut with a fork. The key is low heat + enough moisture so the meat gently breaks down over time.
Ingredients (3 main ingredients)
- 4–6 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 2–3 cm thick)
- 1 can (about 300–400 ml) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet onion soup mix
Optional but helpful (not required):
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth (for extra sauce)
Instructions
1. Prepare the slow cooker
Lightly grease the inside of the slow cooker or use a liner for easier cleanup.
2. Add the pork chops
Place the pork chops in a single layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
3. Mix the sauce
In a bowl, combine:
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Onion soup mix
- Water or broth (optional)
Stir until smooth, then pour over the pork chops.
4. Slow cook
- Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours
or - HIGH for 3–4 hours
Do not overcook on high for too long, or the texture may dry out instead of becoming tender.
5. Finish and serve
Once done, the pork chops should be very tender and easy to shred or cut. Spoon the sauce over the top before serving.
Why this works
- Soup base keeps moisture locked in
- Onion soup mix adds salt, depth, and umami
- Low slow cooking breaks down connective tissue for tenderness
Tips for best results
- Choose thicker pork chops for better texture
- Don’t lift the lid during cooking (it slows tenderizing)
- If sauce is too thin at the end, remove lid and cook 15–20 minutes longer
Serving ideas
- Mashed potatoes
- Rice
- Egg noodles
- Steamed vegetables
Bottom line
With just three basic ingredients, you can turn pork chops into a rich, tender slow cooker meal that’s simple, forgiving, and very low effort.
